About ARAIA

ARAIA (Argonne Resilience AI Assistant) is an AI-powered conversational assistant developed at Argonne National Laboratory to help users explore and understand future hazards risk and resilience data through the ClimRR portal.

What ARAIA can help with

• Answering questions about projected future conditions for specific U.S. locations, counties, states, or tribal lands
• Explaining ClimRR datasets, including temperature, precipitation, heat index, humidity, wind, and wildfire risk variables
• Comparing historical baselines against mid-century and end-of-century projections under different emissions scenarios
• Guiding users to the right ClimRR tools for their planning or analysis needs

How it works

ARAIA retrieves relevant future projection data from the ClimRR database based on your question, then uses a large language model to generate a summary response grounded in that data. Charts and statistics in the response are drawn directly from ClimRR records, not generated by the AI.

• ARAIA responses are AI-generated summaries and may contain errors. Always verify important findings against the source data in the ClimRR portal.
• ARAIA is designed for informational and exploratory use only, not for formal risk assessments or critical infrastructure decisions.
